Year established: 1994
Campus: SILC is located in Jiading district. Jiading is in the northwest part of Shanghai, which was officially set up in 1217 during the Southern Song Dynasty, dating back over 800 years. Besides Jiading campus, Shanghai University has another two campuses, which are Baoshan and Yanchang campus.
Student enrolments: 3400 students in 2019, including 400 international students
Total number of staff: 203, including 131 academic staff and 72 professional staff.
Graduate employment: 44.88% of undergraduates were in full-time employment after completion, 38.99% were in full-time study abroad and 15.44% in China.
SILC has 28 exchange agreements enabling students to study on exchange in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Poland, France, the UK, the Netherlands, and the USA.
Reputation
Recommended by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission as the first experimental unit for accreditation of Sino-foreign joint education, the School became the first Sino-foreign education institute accredited by National Education Assessment Agency in 2006.
The School was named one of the top ten best Sino-foreign joint education institutes by China Education and Research Network in 2009.
The School has been named one of the top ten most influential Sino-foreign joint education institutes by Sina and Xinhuanet for five consecutive years since 2010.
The School received public commendation from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for Sino-foreign joint education institutes (programs) in 2016.
The School became a member of AACSB in 2013 and successfully earned AACSB accreditation in Feb 2020.
