Department of Economics and Finance currently has 24 full-time faculty members. The teaching and scientific research work undertaken by the teachers ranges over economics, finance, international trade, econometrics, spatial economics, environmental economics, labor economics and so forth.

In recent years, the department has undertaken more than 20 research projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China, and Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education. More than 30 papers have been published in important academic journals both at home and abroad in World Economy Study, Economic Management, International Finance Research and China Industrial Economics as well as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, International Journal of Empirical Finance, etc.
