Hosted by SHU-UTS SILC Business School, The International Conference on Transformations and Innovations in Management was held in Baoshan campus from September 9 to 10. Over one hundred domestic and foreign scholars were invited to the conference. Prof. Yong Duan, Vice President of Shanghai University, Prof. Kangjuan Lyu, Deputy Dean of SILC, Prof. Xiaohan Hu, and Prof. Hui Fang attended the opening ceremony.
Prof. Yong Duan addressed the opening ceremony. He welcomed all the scholars attending the conference and expressed his gratitude to staff and volunteers for their hard work. As one the major universities in Shanghai, Shanghai University has an inescapable duty to carry out research in innovation. Prof. Kangjuan Lyu said the conference aims to gather experts in transformation and innovation in management and provide them with an academic platform for idea exchange.
Scholars from Australia, Poland, Finland, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, Japan, Nepal, Lithuania, and Kuwait attended the conference. Most countries are in the Belt and Road region. Prof. Yuri Loktionov, Vice President of Kazakhstan Polytechnic University, Prof. Alojzy Nowak, Deputy Dean of Management Faculty, University of Warsaw, Prof. Fuming Jiang, Dean of Business School, Curtin University, Prof. Jiaxiao Lei from School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Prof. Antoine Hermens from Business School, University of Technology Sydney, and Dr. Peng Zhang, CEO of Oxford Instruments made keynote speeches. The scholars had heated discussions on various topics in the following seminars.
Prof. Wan Wanggen, Director of International Office Shanghai University, addressed the closing ceremony. He said a large number of transformation and innovation topics in management discipline are now in the ascendant. Scholars and researchers committed to the topics will have a heavy burden and embark on a long journey. The friendship will live on despite the short duration of the conference. Three excellent papers were selected. One of them was written by a SILC postgraduate student under the guidance of his supervisor.
