On July 3rd, SILC’s 2022 Graduation Ceremony took place at Xingjian Activity Center, Jiading Campus. More than 800 undergraduates and postgraduates from class of 2022 celebrated the happy graduation moment. The event was attended by Professor Li Shuang (Party Secretary, CPC of SILC), Professor Lyu Kangjuan (Deputy Party Secretary and Dean of SILC), Professor Hu Xiaohan (Associate Dean of SILC), Ms. Wei Jingfen (Deputy Secretary of the Party, Associate Dean of SILC), Professor Fang Hui (Associate Dean of SILC), Professor Bian Yiwen (Associate Dean of SILC), and representatives of SILC faculty. The ceremony was hosted by Dr. Gu Haodong, Director of International Office, SILC.
Professor Andrew Parfitt, President of the University of Technology Sydney delivered a speech in the form of a video. He said that graduation is a milestone in one's university career and students have overcome various difficulties, especially the impact of the epidemic and completed their studies. The graduation does not just mean academic achievement, but a comprehensive improvement and growth for students.
Professor Lyu Kangjuan, Dean of SILC, delivered a speech to congratulate the graduates on their successful graduation. She said, "As the class of 2022, you should be proud of yourselves, because you have completed your studies with excellence. As the class of 2022, you should be proud of yourselves, because you have overcame the pandemic". She encouraged the graduates to keep their inner balance, uphold the motto of self-improvement of Shanghai University, be positive and enterprising, and make contribution to society.
