On October 23, 2024, representatives from Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU), including Rector Julio Fernández and International Office Director Ignacio Batrille, visited SILC Business School to discuss potential collaborations.
The discussions centered on UCU’s participation in SILC's International Culture Week in 2025, including plans for postgraduate students to join the program. Both sides explored course offerings, cultural experiences, and company visits, expressing a commitment to advancing this initiative.
Additional topics included student exchanges, dual-degree programs, and joint research opportunities. Both institutions agreed to exchange faculty lists to establish academic partnerships and aim to formalize their cooperation through a memorandum of understanding.
Founded as Uruguay’s first private university, UCU ranks 75th in the 2025 QS Caribbean and Latin America rankings and boasts the country’s only AACSB-accredited business school.
