From March 29 to 31, hosted by Shanghai University and Peak Time Organizing Committee and organized by SHU-UTS SILC Business School, the final was held in the Xingjian Sports Center in Shanghai University Jiading campus. 32 teams of undergraduate students and 24 teams of MBA students from famous Chinese universities such as Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-Sen University and Shanghai University participated in the competition.
Nie Qing,Member of the standing committee of the party committee, and the vice president of Shanghai University, Professor Lyu Kangjuan, Dean of SHU-UTS SILC Business School, Professor Hu Xiaohan, Associate Dean of SHU-UTS SILC Business School,Mr. Veijo, the CEO of CESIM, Wu Wen, the Area Manager(China) of CESIM attended the opening ceremony. Ge Jing, the secretary-general of the committee of business Administration education of Ministry of Education, Professor Lyu Kangjuan, and Mr.Veijo made a speech.
Vice president Nie Qing, on behalf of Shanghai University, welcomed all the participants. She pointed out that thiswas the second time for Shanghai University to hold this internationally renowned competition, which trained personnel and acceleratededucational reform. She wished all the teams good results and the competition a success.
Mr. Veijo started his speech with an intriguing story, encouraging participants to be a quick learners and creative thinkers with excellent planning and organizing skills. Then Shang Xiaoxia,the deputy manager of CESIM introduced the rules and explained how the results were calculated. This was followed by the competition and Red Carpet Show.On 30 March, all the teams had online business simulation for decision making in five computer rooms/ markets.
The teams of the same market had both cooperation and competition. the rank of accumulative profit decided the result of online decision making simulation. On 31 March each team gave a 7-minute group business presentation based on the cases provided by the competition. Judges from academic institutions and businesses asked questions and gave comments
In the end, the undergraduate team Google Ice red tea, from South China University of Technology,and MBA team Rocket from Renmin University of China were the winning teams. 10 teams won the first prizesuch as the undergraduate team BnZ from SILC, the MBA team SEAGULL from Shanghai University, the MBA Team TWINKLE from Shenzhen university.44 teams won the second prize (including special awards) such as undergraduate team UVOICE from SILC, MBA team TBU from Sun Yat-Sen University.
Professor Li Shuang, the secretary of party committee of SILC and Professor Hu Xiaohan attended the award ceremony.Professor Li Shuang extended warm greetings to all the teachers and participants, and congratulated teams with good results He believed the success of the competition was the prelude to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of SILC.
