On the eve of the 25th anniversary of SHU-UTS SILC Business School, SILC and UTS jointly published two high-level academic papers in their first-time collaboration. Professor Lyu Kangjuan, dean of SILC and ProfessorScott Kelly, director of Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) are the co-authors of 2 papers published in Journal of Cleaner Production( Impact Factor 6.352. JCR Q1).
In early 2019, A systematic review of empirical methods for modelling sectoral carbon emissions in China was published in Journal of Cleaner Production. The first author is Huang Li, PhD student of the SILC – UTs joint PhD program, Professor Lyu Kangjuan is the corresponding author, Scott Kelly and Damien Giurco are co-autors. The paper conducts systematical literature review of the current study of China's sectoral carbon emissions (CSCE) and the methods for modelling sectoral carbon emissions in China. The analysis uses knowledge mapping with the software CiteSpace, The review identifies five common families of methods, and reveals the main trends in each family of methods and has visualized this research into ten research clusters. In addition, the paper provides a direct comparison of all methods. The research results can help scholars quickly identify and compare different methods for addressing specific research questions.
Recently, another paper A Study on Embodied Carbon Transfer at the Provincial Level of China from a Social Network Perspective was accepted by Journal of Cleaner Production. The paper incorporates the multiregional input-output (MRIO) and social network analysis (SNA) methods to investigate China’s embodied carbon transfer across provinces.Professor Lyu Kangjuan is the first author, Scott Kelly and Huang Li are the co-authors, the paper is also cooperated by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronauticsand Tsinghua University.
In the 25years of SHU-UTS cooperation, SILC has achieved many impressive results in education, students’ development and innovation of systems.
In august 2017, Professor Lyu Kangjuan was invited to work together ona 2-week scientific research project through UTS KTP Visiting Fellow program. In May 2019, Damien Giurco the professor of ISF will visit Shanghai University. These two high-level papers achieved the breakthrough in the high-levelcollaborative academic research, which is the gift to the 25th Anniversary of SILC.
