The first anniversary of Sino-Australia Cooperative Education Alliance held a virtual meeting on the opportunities and challenges the COVID-19 has brought to higher education

As the current presidency school of Sino-Australia Cooperative Education Alliance, SILC Business School organized a virtual meeting at which the member schools exchanged experience of online teaching. The meeting was presided by A/Prof. Hu Xiaohan, the Associate Dean of SILC. Mr. Tang Zhenfu, General Secretary of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Committee, and nearly one hundred scholars from member schools and Sino-foreign cooperative institutes participated in the meeting.


Mr.Tang Zhenfu said that it is appropriate and safe to organize this virtual meeting given the global pandemic. He suggested that the member schools not only share their thoughts on pedagogy and teaching technology but also discuss the cooperative education policies and delivery modes in order to develop online teaching standards for Sino-foreign cooperative education. Prof. Sheng Lifang, Associate Dean of College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, Ocean University of China, Prof.Zhao Yufang, Dean of Westa College, Southwest University, and A/Prof. Hu Xiaohan delivered keynote speeches at the meeting.


Prof. Lyu Kangjuan, the first rotating president of the alliance and Dean of SILC, expressed her gratitude to the speakers. She suggested the member schools formulate procedures and standards based on some universal issues to guide the development of the alliance and Sino-foreign cooperative education. She believed that Sino-foreign cooperative education will turn the current challenges into development opportunities through members’ joint effort and continuous innovation.
