On the 20th of October, 14 MBA students and a faculty member from the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU) Business School visited SILC Business School, Shanghai University for a seven-day International Study Week program.

Located in Montevideo, UCU is one of Uruguay’s top private universities and the only AACSB-accredited business school in the country. It enjoys strong recognition across Uruguay and Latin America for its academic excellence and global outlook.

The customized one-week long international study program, designed by SILC, aimed to help UCU MBA students deepen their understanding of China’s economy, business environment, and culture. This marks SILC’s first tailored program for an overseas MBA cohort. The participants- all working professionals from sectors including agriculture, media, manufacturing, and education engaged in a series of lectures and cultural activities.

The academic sessions covered topics such as China’s economic development trends, Chinese enterprise innovation, and cross-cultural communication, complemented by language and cultural learning. Beyond the classroom, the students visited two high-tech companies to exchange ideas directly with Chinese entrepreneurs, and took part in immersive cultural workshops including tea ceremony, dumpling making, and Tai Chi.
The program successfully concluded on October 26, with UCU students expressing their appreciation for obtaining a first-hand understanding of China’s dynamic economic growth and a deeper appreciation of its rich cultural heritage.
