On the morning of Oct. 26th , the Inauguration Ceremony of UTS Study Centre at SILC is held in Jiading Campus, Shanghai University. Prof. Lyu Kangjuan, Deputy Dean of SILC, Prof. Tracy Taylor, Deputy Dean of UTS Business School, Ms. Wei Jingfen, Deputy Secretary of SILC, Assoc. Prof. Fang Hui, Associate Dean of SILC, Prof. Sarath Delpachitra, Director of UTS Business Programs (Shanghai), Mr. Blair McRae, Director of UTS Commercial, Ms. Gao Ying, Director of SILC Academic Affairs Office, Mr. Jason West, Head of SILC English Department and other people attend the ceremony.
Prof. Sarath Delpachitra presides over the ceremony. Prof. Lyu Kangjuan gave a speech at first. She congratulates on the completion and opening of UTS Study Centre and believes that the centre will contribute to the improvement of SILC education standards. Prof. Tracy Taylor introduces the intention of building the centre and its various functions. She hopes that the centre can benefit the students in their study.
Later, an alumnus and three students of SILC take turns to speak in front of the audience. They talk about their lives at SILC and their wishes for the future. They all hope that the UTS Study Centre can improve the infrastructure and learning atmosphere at SILC.
The plan of establishing a UTS Study Centre is gradually formed in the process of discussing the joint-employed teacher strategy by SILC and UTS. The centre is aimed at providing UTS information and services, where students can experience the UTS culture and get guidance and help from teachers. With the UTS Study Centre, the campus will become more international and diverse.
