Shanghai Municipal Education Commission recently announced the 2015 Demonstrative English-taught Course Construction List. The courses are intended for the international university students in Shanghai. 3 courses from SILC were selected in the list, along with other 150 courses from 20 universities
The courses selected from SILC are Finance and Control from International Perspective, in Li Han’s charge, Innovation and Small Business Entrepreneurship in Zheng Xiaosong’s charge and E-commerce in Du Juan’s charge. Each course is going to be awarded 100,000 yuan for course construction. The construction period is 2 years. Upon successful completion, the courses will be awarded the title of ‘Shanghai Demonstrative English-taught Course for International University Students’ , which will be effective for 3 years.
SILC, as the earliest Sino-foreign cooperative business institute established in China, has already established a English-taught course system with its own distinctive characteristics. 27 degree courses have been introduced from UTS to form the main body. In 2014, SILC received around 100 international students to study on campus. To enrich the international students’ choices, a batch of English-taught courses including Chinese business courses and Chinese culture courses have also been developed by SILC independently. With the support of school leaders and the unremitting effort of teachers, there will be more high quality courses provided to the international students in the future.
