The 39th SILC board meeting was held in Jiading Hotel on 28th June. Prof. Jin Donghan,President of Shanghai University, Prof. Gong Siyi, Vice president of Shanghai University, Prof. Luo Jun, Director of Innovation Management Department, Prof. Peng Zhangyou, Director of Academic Affairs, and Prof. Lyu Kangjuan, Dean of SILC, attended the meeting. The Australian board members and observers from Insearch attended the meeting.
Prof. Lyu presented strategic development report, work report, and research report to the board meeting. SILC has made significant progress in achieving strategic goals and research development in 2017-2018 academic year. The joint appointment, dual-degree program, MF program, and MEM program proceeded well. She also raised proposals on dual master’s program, joint Ph.D program, and Shanghai Sydney Institute.
Prof. Tracy Taylor, associate dean of UTS Business School presented dual degree management committee report to the board meeting. The student feedback survey indicates an increasing student satisfaction. The result is higher than the average at UTS. Ms. Kirsten Murray from Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology presented MEM management committee report. The MEM program achieved good market feedback and recognition. Prof. Fang Hui presented finance report.
The board members recognized the development and progress in 2017-2018. Both presidents are satisfied with the partnership between two universities since SILC was founded in 1994. They also expected that the partnership will move to a new level with deeper cooperation in faculty and research development.
