The 40th SILC Joint Management Committee Meeting was held in Baoshan campus on January 14. Prof. Jin Donghan, President of Shanghai University, Prof. Gong Siyi, Vice President of Shanghai University, Prof. Lyu Kangjuan, and other Shanghai University leaders attended the meeting. The Australian members attending the meeting include Prof. Andrew Parfitt, Senior Vice-Chancellor of UTS, Mr. Iain Watt, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UTS, Mr. Leo Mian Liu, Vice President (Global Partnerships) of UTS, Prof. Chris Earley, Dean of Business School, Prof. Ian Burnett, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and IT, and Mr. Alex Murphy, Managing Director of Insearch.
Prof. Lyu Kangjuan presented 2018 report and 2017-2018 strategic development report. SILC made significant achievements in teaching, research, and management in 2018, with joint appointment and Master of Engineering Management program moving on as anticipated. Prof. Lyu also submitted a proposal for future cooperation. SILC will continue to enhance faculty, improve teaching facility, and prepare for AACSB accreditation visit.
Mr. Mark Leigh present financial report. SILC had another successful year in terms of financial performance. Prof. Sarath presented dual-degree course management committee meeting report. He said the number of students enrolled in UTS degree program will increase in 2019 as the cohort of Finance major will be enrolled. Ms. Kirsten Murray presented Master of Engineering Management course management meeting report on enrollment plan and operation plan.
At the end of the meeting, the board members discussed the renewal of agreements and SILC 25th anniversary in 2019. SILC has experienced great development in the past 25 years as a result of joint effort from both partners and will move to the next level in 2019.
