On April 2, SILC Business School officially launched the 2025 English Cultural Festival at the Jiading Campus, under the theme “Embracing Diversity, Co-creating the Future.” The event was attended by SILC and the university leadership, faculty members, and both Chinese and international student representatives. The ceremony was co-hosted by two students, Jin Qihang and Catalina Vazquez.
The English Cultural Festival is one of SILC’s signature events, recognized multiple times as a Shanghai University cultural brand. This year, the festival features three themed series:
1. “知荟阁Zhi Hui Ge” – Academic English workshops
2. “趣荟坊Qu Hui Fang” – Fun and interactive English activities
3. “竞荟堂Jing Hui Tang” – English competitions and showcases
These activities aim to make language learning more engaging and practical, while promoting cross-cultural understanding and communication.
As part of the opening, students learned about the traditional Chinese Qingming Festival through a bilingual cultural presentation led by Kuang Qun, Director of English department. Afterwards, Hu Yuxin, a student from Student Union led both Chinese and International students to participate in a hands-on sachet-making workshop, blending cultural learning with interactive experience.
