On April 18, SILC Business School held its 16th International Football Friendly Match at the Jiading Campus, bringing together students from over 20 countries. As one of SILC’s signature cross-cultural events, the match continues to foster global friendship and mutual understanding through the universal language of sport.
Gu Haodong, Director of the International Office, opened the event by emphasizing the spirit of “Friendship First, Competition Second.” Student representatives from both teams echoed this sentiment, encouraging all players to enjoy the game and celebrate diversity.
After an exciting start and a 1-1 tie in the first half, the Chinese Team gained momentum with standout performances from Hu Yu’ang and Zhang Zijian, eventually securing a 4-1 victory over the International Team. Zhang’s two goals earned him the Golden Boot Award, while Martin Alvarez Franco (Spain) and Hu Yu’ang received Silver Boot Awards. The Best Player Award was jointly awarded to You Xudong and Martin Alvarez Franco for their outstanding performance.
The annual match has become a highly anticipated event at SILC, strengthening intercultural bonds both on and off the field.
