Prof. Lyu Kangjuan, Chair of SILC Business School at Shanghai University, has been appointed to the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)—becoming the first female member from mainland China in the committee's history.
The IAC is responsible for reviewing self-assessment and peer review reports for business schools undergoing initial AACSB accreditation. It plays a key role in maintaining consistency in global accreditation standards and guiding institutions through the initial accreditation process. The committee consists of 36 members from leading international business schools, divided into two groups, with Prof. Lyu joining one of the teams.
Prof. Lyu’s appointment recognizes her extensive experience in international business education and accreditation. Since SILC earned AACSB accreditation in 2020, she has served as an AACSB mentor and peer review team member for schools across Asia, including Universitas Indonesia and Sun Yat-sen University. She has also been a keynote speaker at the AACSB Asia Pacific Annual Conferences (2023–2025), where her “Win-Win Strategy, Harmonious Symbiosis” concept received widespread recognition.
Under her leadership, SILC has achieved significant milestones:
- Earned AACSB accreditation in 2020 and reaccreditation in 2025, joining the ranks of the world’s top business schools.
- Became one of the few Sino-foreign institutions in China with AACSB accreditation.
- Featured in Eduniversal's Global Top Business Schools since 2021.
Prof. Lyu's inclusion in the IAC not only marks a personal achievement but also showcases China’s growing influence in global business education. Her continued contributions are expected to elevate the voice of Chinese institutions on the world stage and foster deeper international collaboration in the years ahead.
