2025 Graduation Ceremony for Dual-Degree Students from Shanghai University and University of Technology Sydney (UTS)

On the afternoon of June 24, 2025, the graduation ceremony for the UTS Bachelor's and Master's degree graduates from the Shanghai University-UTS joint program was held at the Weichang Building on Shanghai University's Baoshan campus.



The ceremony was attended by prominent leaders from both institutions, including UTS President Andrew Parfitt, UTS Vice President (International Affairs) Leo Mian Liu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and IT Peta Wyeth, Dean of SILC Bian Yiwen, and other distinguished leaders from both China and Australia.



The event began with UTS President Andrew Parfitt giving the opening speech, congratulating the graduates as they prepared to step into an era of technological advancement, economic transformation, and social challenges.



He also gave words of encouragement for students to remain curious, adaptable, and resilient, always embracing diverse perspectives and maintaining a passion for learning.



UTS Vice President Leo Mian Liu also congratulated the graduates for their hard work and perseverance as he emphasised importance of lifelong learning and innovation, values supported by both UTS and SILC Business schools.


Then, graduate representative, Song Yuetong, a dual-degree graduate, gave a heartfelt speech on behalf of the graduates, expressing her gratitude and experience throughout her academic journey.

After the speeches, President Andrew Parfitt and Vice President Leo Mian Liu personally presented degrees to the graduates.



This event not only celebrated the academic accomplishments of the graduates but also symbolized the strong partnership between Shanghai University and UTS in fostering international talent equipped to excel in a globalized world.
