On the 24th of June, 2025, SILC Business School’s Graduation and Degree Conferral Ceremony took place at the Weichang Building on Shanghai University’s Baoshan campus. Over 700 graduates, including both undergraduate and master's students, gathered to celebrate this milestone. Key attendees included Vice President of Shanghai University Yu Xuemei, SILC Party Secretary Lv Kangjuan, Dean Bian Yiwen, and several other faculty members and administrators from both Shanghai University and University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Prominent leaders from UTS were also in attendance, including President Andrew Parfitt, Vice President Leo Mian Liu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and IT Peta Wyeth, and Interim Dean of the UTS Business School Sara Denize, alongside UTS staff, alumni, and family members of the graduates.
The ceremony took place with warm congratulations and best wishes from President Andrew Parfitt, reminding students that learning is a lifelong journey, and from Dean Bian Yiwen encouraging students to constantly stay humble in pursuit of knowledge while staying innovative in the face of uncertainty.
Later on, a cultural fashion show also took place, performed by Chinese and international students, as a symbol of the deep cultural integration at SILC.
Finally to conclude, the graduates and faculty performed a lively original song medley along with the school song, ending the graduation ceremony on a joyful note.
This graduation ceremony marks both the end of one journey and the beginning of another. We wish the Class of 2025 success in their future endeavours as they continue to contribute to their families, alma mater, and the world.
