On June 23, 2025, the 53rd Joint Management Committee Meeting of Shanghai University – SILC Business School was held successfully. The meeting was attended by key leaders from both Shanghai University and University of Technology Sydney (UTS). From Shanghai University, Vice Party Secretary and President Liu Changsheng, Vice President Yu Xuemei, and Executive Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Department Peng Zhangyou were in attendance. While from SILC Business School, Party Secretary Lv Kangjuan and Dean Bian Yiwen were in attendance.
Representatives from UTS included UTS President Andrew Parfitt, UTS Vice President for International Affairs Leo Mian Liu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and IT Peta Wyeth, Acting Dean of the Business School Sara Denize, and CEO Morwenna Shahani.
The meeting was conducted both in-person and virtually.
The meeting kicked off with vice President Leo Mian Liu from UTS presenting a report on the assessment of the collaborative programs, while Dean Bian Yiwen of SILC gave a comprehensive report on the first half of 2025. Later on, updates on the curriculum cooperation and reports on latest developments were presented by respective departments in charge.
The Joint Management Committee expressed great satisfaction with the progress made in these areas. Both universities' leadership reiterated their commitment to working together to build SILC Business School into a world-class, internationally recognized institution.
The meeting concluded successfully at 3:30 PM (Beijing time), and the next Joint Management Committee Meeting is scheduled for December 2025 in Sydney.
