On the afternoon of June 24, 2025, the graduation farewell ceremony for the Shanghai University – University of Technology Sydney (SHU-UTS) Master’s Program was held with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by key leaders from both universities, including UTS President Andrew Parfitt, UTS Vice President Leo Mian Liu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and IT Peta Wyeth, and other distinguished leaders from both China and Australia. The event is also hosted alongside faculty members, 2025 graduates, and alumni representatives.
The ceremony started off with Dean Bian Yiwen delivering a heartfelt speech, offering his best wishes to the graduates. Then, as the outstanding graduate representative, Li Zirong, from the Master of Finance program, reflected on his academic journey while expressing gratitude for SILC.
During the farewell ceremony, school and faculty leaders also presented Wenhui Scholarships to outstanding graduates.
In a meaningful gesture of gratitude, several graduates also made a collective donation to the school which the Dean graciously accepted on behalf of the institution.
Zhang Hao, a graduate from the MEM program, spoke on behalf of the donors, expressing the donation as a a contribution to furthering the school's educational and research endeavours.
The ceremony also saw the induction of new members into the UTS Master’s Alumni Association as well as appointment of alumni advisors.
As the graduates embark on the next chapter of their lives, we wish them success in navigating the ever-changing global landscape with innovation, courage, and vision. May they continue to write magnificent chapters of their, breaking boundaries and embracing new horizons.
